Serves You Right

We are absolutely loving the newly renovated 'Serves You Right!' Cafe on Unley Road! The new fitout was completed by the owner Nathan & some very dedicated friends in under 5 days... who needs sleep right? But the results are as fabulous & delicious as the Menu by chef Sam Worrall-Thompson (yes, for those English readers... the son of UK celebrity cook Antony Worrall-Thompson). We completely agree that the cafe (and gorgeous hidden courtyard) would make a fabulous venue for any party or event, particularly if there's any hint of a literary theme to reference - we LOVE the floor to ceiling bookcase and especially love that it's been filed by colour and that the complete works of Shakespeare are literally plastering the walls. The whole space is delightful and the food is mouth wateringly good, lately we've been a little guilty of making our Wednesday lunch an event for two at this fab little spot so thought it was definitely worth sharing...

All Set For Christmas... well the table anyway

Drum roll... So here's the result of the christmas styling concepts we developed for Sally of Poppies Florist featured in this months SA Style Mag. Stay tuned for more pics of our fab styling efforts as we have a heap of detail shots that we can't wait to share! We were also super happy with the brilliant stationery elements we briefed and commissioned Alicia from Akimbo to contribute check them out here...

Memorable Marquees

In the spirit of the day we thought we'd share our two all time favourite Melbourne Cup Marquees... These are both absolutely fabulous examples of how the skills of qualified & talented interior designers can transform spaces into truely unique and memorable environments.

Both of these amazing marquees demonstrate clearly that event design is far more than just styling, choosing a colour theme and table decorations, these marquees exemplify design through their dedication to the attention to detail, the considered maniuplation of space and creating atmosphere through the innovative application of layering texture, colour, light, movement and object... yay for design!!

Check out what PTW Architects helped realise for Moet Chandon... could you get any closer to being inside a glass of champagne?
and we love this playful interpretation of 'The Village Green' in the Birdcage that Interior Designers Hecker Phelan & Guthrie helped realise...

Venue Ideas

G came across Ella Dining room (designed by UXUS) while researching restaurants for a new waterfront restaurant she is designing down at West Lakes in Adelaide and thought it would make the perfect venue for a vintage style wedding with a modern quirky twist. The olive branches on the tables give the space a calming organic and exotic touch and it would be great to bring them into the wedding florals.
